Farewell to DHS' Trent Wakenight, Hello to Wendy Schmitz

As announced in the December 2007, DHS Visiting Scholar Trent Wakenight concluded his appointment with DHS' Office of University Programs on December 31, 2007.

Taking over Wakenight’s duties in coordinating the DHS Student & Alumni Network will be Wendy Schmitz.

Based at the DHS Science and Technology Directorate Office of University Program’s headquarters in Washington, D.C., Schmitz will oversee the Network, its online components, as well as events and activities associated with students and alumni.

Among Schmitz’s responsibilities will be a revamping of the online component of the Network to align it with efforts to promote and publicize the research of the DHS-funded university community.

Initial efforts to communicate these programs, including the DHS Centers of Excellence have been based at www.sciencetosecurity.org.
